We’re raising money to provide breakfast bags for families in need in Breda so they can start their day with a healthy meal. With this project we want to show we care about others and make a real difference locally. As IB students, helping out fits with our values, and it’s a great way to learn new skills like teamwork and leadership. By partnering with the Red Cross, we know our efforts will really help people. Let’s make a GIFT TO UNKNOWN FRIENDS to make sure they have food in the morning!

We’re the MYP 4 B students of the International School Breda, and we’re really excited to tell you about something special our Mentor group organised: a fun Community Bingo Event to raise money for the Red Cross food aid program! Why did we do this? Because food insecurity is a real issue here in the Netherlands. Did you know that more than 450,000 people, including kids, families, and the elderly, struggle to afford enough food every day? The cost of living keeps rising, and not everyone qualifies for regular help. That’s where the Red Cross steps in. They provide grocery cards to people who are often overlooked but still need support. We want to do our part to help them! Our goal is to raise money to provide breakfast bags for families in need right here in Breda, so they can start their day with a healthy meal. We believe everyone deserves to wake up and have access to something nutritious to eat. It’s our way of making a “GIFT TO UNKNOWN FRIENDS” and showing that we care about our community. As IB students, we know that helping others is part of our values. It’s also a great way for us to develop important skills like teamwork, leadership, and empathy. By working together and partnering with the Red Cross, we know we can really make a difference. This fundraiser isn’t just about donating money; it’s about coming together as a community to show kindness and support for those who need it.
